The Square in Shrewsbury town centre is the HQ for the event. This is where you can feel the buzz of the racing and enjoy the images supplied by the big screen. There are many fantastic viewing positions for the racing all around the circuit and please feel free to move around during the day to sample all the different corners and climbs. All crossing points will be stewarded by our experienced and friendly marshals, and they can advise you of all the good spots to watch from and provide you with a ‘free’ programme.
Where to park
There are lots of car parks around the town centre. A list of which can be found at: www.visitshrewsbury.co.uk although we recommend avoiding the car parks within the course e.g. The Tannery and Barker Street car parks as there maybe a delay in being able to get your car out at the end of the event. We would recommend the Abbey Foregate, St Julians Friars and Frankwell car parks as being your best bet for a hassle-free stay.
Where to eat
Shrewsbury is extremely lucky to have lots of nice restaurants close at hand, many being in or close to the HQ in the Square, and there is also a great selection of coffee shops for the caffeine hit!
This year we have invested in a large screen display of the race which will be placed near the commentary podium on the High Street. This will give spectators a view of the entire course as covered by our TV crew. The event will also be ‘live streamed’ on the Internet (via a link on this website) so that no matter where you are on the circuit you can watch all the action on your mobile or tablet.
New for 2017 we will be hosting a ‘Rollapaluza..’ at the race HQ in The Square. This gives all guests, riders and spectators the opportunity to battle it out on two side by side static bikes, setup in the square. There is no cost and it is great fun! Race your mates or go for the all and sprint record. The races are accompanied by music and commentary and it will really add to the atmosphere.
